FOSSEE Summer Fellowship 2025: Apply Online, Eligibility and Last Date

For the FOSSEE Summer Fellowship 2025, the FOSSEE initiative is accepting applications. The FOSSEE team gives the students a chance to work with them for one and a half to two months. Students can physically collaborate with the FOSSEE team at the IIT Bombay campus as part of this hybrid fellowship if they want to. Choose a project from the table below and a screening job to be considered for the fellowship. At least one screening task must be finished and submitted. Objective of FOSSEE Summer Fellowship

The goal of the FOSSEE (Free/Libre and Open Source Software for Education) Summer Fellowship is to lessen dependency on proprietary software, encourage and expand the use of FLOSS (Free/Libre and Open Source Software) in education, and give students hands-on experience with open-source technologies and software development.   Since open-source tools and software have the potential to save costs and raise educational quality, FOSSEE seeks to promote their adoption in educational institutions. The initiative is overall a good opportunity for people who want to build new skills in themselves.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for applying to this program are given below:-

• To be considered for this internship, students must learn how to use Free/Libre and Open Source Software (FLOSS) and finish at least one screening work. Programming, scientific computing, and gathering data that will benefit the community are some examples of these tasks. These are simple screening tasks that can be completed in a week or two.
• The applicant should be a permanent resident of India.
• The applicant should be pursuing any degree or at any stage of the graduation/post-graduation degree.
